True to its name, the sea otter can spend its entire life at sea. It eats, sleeps, hunts, mates, and gives birth in the water. To stay warm in the cold ocean, the sea otter has the thickest fur of any animal. It also must eat a lot—up to a quarter of its body weight each day!
